It felt like I was looking forward to this wedding for ages but as much as we all imagined their day, no one expected snow. It wasn't just a dusting. Evergreen, Colorado measured at 9.9 inches of snow! Meghan and Brian embraced this weather with only slight changes in plans to their day. The ceremony was moved indoors due to the cold and wind but we did all the portraits outdoors! It was a dreamy day I was so lucky to be a part of.
I spent the morning with the bride's group of ladies getting their hair and makeup done in a hotel conference room while the boys were drinking beer in the hot tub- lol if that isn't the most typical wedding morning. Courtney and Ashley were the hair and makeup team that flew in from New Orleans for this day! I met Courtney at a wedding last summer and I'm so thankful she was able to come. The girls looks did not budge in the weather conditions. As a perk, the NOLA girlies got to play around in the snow for the content.
Meghan chose to do a 'first look' before the ceremony with both her dad and her groom. HOW CUTE!
When Meghan's dad walked in the room there was an audible gasp, and it may be my second trimester hormones but a tear immediately came out of my eye. It was so sweet.
If you've worked with me you already know how important it is and how much I stress taking time out of your wedding day to focus on your own couple's portraits. These are the ones that will be framed and that you'll look back on most fondly. It can be 15 minutes or an hour. I will work within the time frame I'm given. If it happens to be snow storming in May I'll make sure you get to take a break inside the heated building too :)
LIKE WOW OKAY HUSBAND AND WIFE!
The ceremony was indoors and beautiful. I loved watching Brian interact with the groomsmen as they met him at the front. Grooms gotta have their moments too.
Now it's time for speeches, first dances and a party! The longer the night went on, the more people gathered outdoors! I'm so thankful to work with couples who will embrace mother nature, especially in the mountains of Colorado. I'm so happy for you both and so thankful I get to call this my job!
All of these speeches were the best wedding speeches I've had the honor of listening to. When I told my husband this he corrected me to remind me that his best man speech at his brother's wedding was the best. SO, these are all the second best. Brian's parents offered a welcome speech + prayer. Meghan's dad choked up talking about his daughter and her accomplishments. Meghan's sister yelled at Meghan for 'looking at her' while giving her speech. Brian's brother used his speech as an unofficial roast of Brian. Don't mind me laughing and crying the entire time.
First dances: Brian + mom, Meghan + dad, Meghan + Brian.
